Welcome!

My association with aviation began with a trip over Thanksgiving holiday in 2004 to Cat Island in the Bahamas.  My girlfriend and I took commercial air from Tampa to Miami to Nassau to Cat Island.  After a flight cancellation by American Airlines in Tampa which caused us to miss our connection in Nassau, we finally boarded a Cat Island Air flight from Nassau to Cat Island the day after Thanksgiving.  We stayed at a great resort called Hawk's Nest.

Hawk's Nest has a 5,000' paved runway next to the resort.  The day after we arrived, a private pilot and his wife flew in for the weekend.  After talking some with him and then reading how easy it is to fly around the Bahamas, I decided that when I returned from my vacation, I was going to take flying lessons.  So, I walked into a local flight training center and took my first flight on December 7, 2004 (a day that will live in infamy).

My next mission was to find an airplane that was designed for the mission I wanted to achieve and at a price that would not bust my wallet.  The Van's RV-7A does that.  I almost went with the Van's RV-9A, which is a little more suited for cross-country trips, but I wanted the ability to do some light aerobatics in the future, so I chose the RV-7A.

Well, that's the reason I'm here.  If you're reading this site, then it probably means you're contemplating building or are building a RV.  Good luck in your project!

General Disclaimer:  This website is intended to serve as a construction log for FAA experimental aircraft certification purposes.  Hopefully, the information here along with the information on several other RV building websites will help you, but you must rely upon your own judgement in building your own aircraft.  This website is not intended to be a "how-to" website.  It is simply intended to show the FAA examiner how I built the aircraft.  Good Luck!
